Musings on market-oriented approaches to International Development
Shane Heywood currently works in private sector Emerging Market strategy, after gaining experience in Management Consulting and pursuing a fellowship at at the Acumen Fund, a leading Social Venture Capital Fund. As a fellow, he helped to market and sell high productivity seeds to over 20,000 smallholder farmers in East Africa.
Previously, Shane was at a leading consumer goods firm, working on sales and marketing projects. He has also worked in Sub-Saharan Africa and Asia on various micro-finance initiatives. He is passionate about leveraging the private sector to improve livelihoods. Shane is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and the London School of Economics.
